About this siteQ. What's this site for_A. This site has been created by the International Trade Centre (ITC) for the members of the World Net programme, to help them with communications and to provide them with some information resources. Q What's the World Net_A. The World Net is a group of business advisers and government officials in more than 30 developing countries who are working, with the support of the UN International Trade Center, to help importers and exporters better understand business htmlects of the world trading system. The country networks include members of the business community, academics and industry association leaders as well as officials in government agencies dealing with international trade. Each of these networks reaches out to the wider business community in their countries and collaborates with other country networks using this site to help with coordination and the exchange of information. Q. Can anyone join the Network_A. The network members themselves are invited to join by ITC, but they actively seek to include other business people interested in trade in their activities. Q. How can I find a member of the Network_A. Join this site (see the 'join' option on the menu at the left of every page) and then navigate via the 'countries' menu to your country network Home Page. You'll find contact details there. Q. Why can't I see the discussions on this site_A. You have to JOIN the site first. Click your mouse pointer on the 'join' menu item on the left of the page, then fill out the form. Q. Can anyone participate in the discussions_A. Yes, if they've joined the site first (see the previous question). Q. I've joined the site but I can't get into the discussion groups!A. Have you 'logged in'_ Maybe the site hasn't recognised you. Just click on the 'log-in' menu item and enter your email address and password. Q. Can I contribute a story to this site_A. Yes: but only if you're an Editor. Only the country network Facilitators have been appointed as editors of the site. Q. Who are the Editors_A. The Facilitators of each country network are site Editors. They can post news of their membership and activities on the Country Network 'Home Page'. Using the siteQ. How do I join the site_A. Click your mouse pointer on the 'join' menu item on the left of the page, then fill out the form. You need to provide an email address, a password (repeated) and a password 'hint'. FIRS fill out every field with an asterisk and THEN press the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page. Q. Is there a 'getting started' guide_A. Yes. Try this link Q. How do I contribute to the discussion_A. Click on 'discuss' at the bottom of any story, or on the 'recent discussion' menu item on the left of any page. All of the stories recently contributed to the site are available for comment in the disucssion group. Just select one and make your contribution using the 'editor'. Q. Do I have to be an editor to contribute to the discussion_A. No. Anyone who has joined the site can contribute to the discussion. If you've already joined the site, click on the 'log in' menu item to get started. To join the site, just click on the 'join' menu item and follow the instructions. Remember to press the 'submit' button when you're done filling out the form. Q. Can I start a new discussion topic_A. Yes, if you've joined the site (and logged-in). See here for a step-by-step guide to using the discussion group. By the way, you're WELCOME to start a new topic on any trade-related issue. Q. How do I use the editor_A. You can just type in the editor window. When you're done press the 'post this story' button below the editor window. NOTHING HAPPENS until you press this button. If you wish you can use the menus on the editor to help you format your contribution. Just remember that you must SELECT SOME TEXT before selecting a menu item, because the menu actions apply formatting tags to selected text only. You don't have to use any tags, however. Q.
